Joseph Smolenak '74

Joseph 'Joe' Smolenak of Mishawaka, Ind., formerly of Trevose, died suddenly on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 while at work. He was 57.

Born Feb. 3, 1955, Joe was a 1974 graduate of Bensalem High School, where he was on the wrestling team.

He was a machinist for 25 years at the Silver Line Mold Company in Indiana.

He had been a football coach for many years for LSAA in Feasterville, and recently for the Mishawaka Parks Department Football League in Mishawaka. Joe enjoyed playing golf.

He was the son of the late John Sr. and Ruth (Roberts) Smolenak; the husband of Trudy; and the father of Lindsay, Melanie, and Randall. He was the treasured 'PaPa' of Isiah, Courtney, and Ayannah, and is also survived by his two sisters, Debbie Dixon and RuthAnn Rolle (Joe); four brothers, John (Eileen), Steve, Ralph (Kate), and Ken (Deb); and will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held in Indiana.
