Nancy Irene (Cutler) Womack, 75 of Houston and formerly of Trevose, PA, died peacefully Sat. Feb. 27, 2021 at Houston Transitional Hospice Care. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery Chappell Hill, TX. Nancy was born on Oct. 19, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA. daughter of George Ferguson Cutler and Kathreen May (Donnell) Cutler.

She is survived by: her ex-husband, John Lewis Shuhart Sr. of Florida; three children, Maryann Marline (Shuhart) Waters of Florida, John Lewis Shuhart Jr of Florida, and Michael Scott Redner of Philadelphia PA; 1 grandchild, Nikki Shuhart of Florida; and three brothers, George Ferguson Cutler Jr. of Katy, TX, Kenneth Robert Cutler of Champaign, IL and Richard James Cutler of Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by: brother, Donald Bruce Cutler (1974); mother Kathreen May (1982); father, George Ferguson (2000); ex-husband, James Redner (1995); and husband Richard Womack (2007).

Nancy was born in NE Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Trevose, PA. She attended Trevose Elementary & Penn Valley Elementary, a two-room schoolhouse, and later, Cecilia Snyder Junior High and Bensalem Senior High School, all in Lower Bucks County, PA. Nancy was a council choir member and Sunday School teacher at many different churches beginning in 1958; Trevose Mennonite Church- Trevose, PA, Scottsville United Methodist Church-Oakford, PA, St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church-Phila, PA, and Westminster United Methodist Church-Houston, TX. She was an active member of the Trevose Methodist Church’s Girls Quartet and sang with them at Mennonite churches and colleges in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia.

Nancy was a volunteer with fundraising projects for Alzheimer’s, shelters for the homeless and/or unmarried mothers and under privileged children. She was a volunteer assistant (1990-92) to local Houston Politician, Leonel Castillo, helping with the organization/start-up of the Houston Hispanic Center for the blind, including various fund raising and outreach projects in the Houston area. She was also a member of the American Rose Society (1984-96) and helped gather a national petition for President Reagan to declare the rose the official American Flower, which became official in 1986.

Nancy worked for many years as the Student Affairs Office Manager at Baylor College of Medicine located in Houston Medical Center, Houston, TX. She retired from there in 2016. Nancy was a lifelong lover of music, especially the blues. She also loved going out for special dining experiences and wine tastings as well as being an avid, lifelong, Chicago Cub fan.
