Robert Lane

Obituary for Daniel Robert Lane

Daniel Robert (Bob) Lane of Punta Gorda, Florida went to sleep at home on May 25, 2016 after losing his battle with lung cancer.

He was born in Bristol, Pennsylvania on June 26, 1943 to David and Alice Lane and raised in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

Bob was a member of Steamfitters Local 420 in Philadelphia for 50 years.

In 1964, Bob met the love of his life, Patricia, and they married five months later, recently celebrating 51 years of marriage together.

Bob was passionate about his family. He was also passionate about his work as a journeyman steamfitter where he was well respected in the business community. His handshake was his word. Bob personally and professionally was known to be kind, gentle, generous to a fault, always putting others first and had a great sense of humor.

Bob and Pat were avid boaters mostly on the Chesapeake Bay, boating out of Rock Hall, Maryland for over 30 years. Upon moving to Florida, both became avid golfers and active members of Deep Creek Golf Club and Punta Gorda Elks 2606.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; daughters, Cheryl Lane, Tracy (Neal) Eavis and Danielle (Gene) Kennedy; eight grandchildren; sibling, Carol (Bill) McCloskey and children; his constant companions, Sabrina and Oliver; and many close friends in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Florida.

At his request, there will be no service.
