Our dad, DeLeon Denning, would have been so excited to see this type of reunion! He loved people and was a true example of what we call "the old school" today. When we lost him at age 46 to cancer, in 1971, I thought it most unfair and didn't understand why such a person would be taken from us, but through the years, know that the impact he had on others during his short lifetime was more than I would expect of most today. He loved school, and would be proud of his family in that we all did something productive with our lives. Not a day goes by that we don't think of something about our parents, and paraticularly when I see some of the social issues and actions of kids in Middle and High School, I know that he would have had a hard time accepting some of the current fads! He had very strong eyes....all he had to do was LOOK and we knew when we had done something wrong! I look forward to seeing those who knew him as well, and his sister, Aunt Annie Laurie, who is more like him than she knows!
