Jeannie and I were friends, practically from birth. Our mothers were neighbors and pregnant at the same time. I was born in April and Jeannie in September. All through grade school at Lafayette, we were the two shortest girls in our class. When we got married, we were in each others weddings. Even after I moved to Florida, we kept in touch by letter, several that I have and treasure. Whenever I would visit home, she and I would always meet for lunch. Losing Jeannie was like losing part of my "home". Jeannie was a dear, sweet person who absolutely adored her Stephen, as she would call him. I still miss her and am moved to tears even as I write this. I love you, Jeannie.
