Tim Bailey VIEW PROFILE

I would like to thank Linda Gray Smidt for passing along this information: I just received an email from Chris Bailey (Tim’s wife) that Tim passed in his sleep on May 10, 2023.  Tim and his wife had been living in Jamestown, NC.

I’ll post more information and/or an obituary as it becomes available.

May you rest in peace Tim, my friend of 75 years, Will remember all our neighborhood street games like 'kick the can' and playing cowboys and Indians with you and the gang. You left us too soon....broken heart

Tim was always kind and helpful. Encouraging to the younger kids. Lead the children' Sunday school sessions at the Congregational church. Made sure everyone was kind to each other...was a great example of leadership at a very early age. So sorry for this passing.

Tim and I first met when Central School was at that time a Junior HIgh for one year.  Back then our paths crossed ocassionally in class and later at Roehm and BHS.  Toughtful and considerate.  Easy to know.  We've communicated off and on via FaceBook.

Many of us will  fondly recall our times with Tim over the years.

To his family and freinds, my deepest sympathies.

An old memory just came to me.  Our first (albeit unsuccessful) year at Miami University, Tim and I decided to hitchhike home from Oxford, Ohio.  We got several rides and were last dropped off in Akron.  Tim called his Dad to tell him where we were.  Tim's Dad offered to pick us up, but Tim said no, that we would hitchhike the rest of the way.  I questioned his judgment, but we got a ride that took us to I-71 and Bagley Road, at which time Tim's Dad picked us up and brought us home. I'm just sorry I didn't call and reminisce with him.  Maybe we should start calling our old friends while we still can.  Just a thought.

After not hearing from or having contatct with Tim since college spring break in Ft. Lauderdale in1967, we finally reconnected and were able to have some "memory lane" conversations by phone.  He said he had been searching for me for years. Glad we had a few months of reconnection, but sad that he has passed.  A good guy and better high school friend!
