I have spoken to Laurel for many hours over the last two years . . . I am very saddened at her passing.  Is there any more information?  I know she had a stroke a while back . . . is this related to that?

What an incredibly positive person she was!

11/16/11 - Hi Everyone, I spoke with Laurel's sister and brother last night. It appears that Laurel died as a result of a stroke or heart attack. The exact cause may never be known. Laurel suffered a stroke about 8-9 years ago and was able to recover with very little damage. I spoke to her on the evening of the 7th and she was well and full of energy. Laurel and I stayed close through the years. We got our first apartment together in 1969. Both of us went back to college after that and Laurel worked her own way through Cleveland State with an art major. Since she lost her mother when we were both 20 years old, I went out to L.A. for a month when her son, Gabriel, was born pre-maturely in 1982.  Laurel created a community of people around herself and her son when she joined the Agape Church and the Agape International Choir. In the last few years she became a Yoga Laughter Leader and loved attending morning laughter sessions on the beach near her home in Irvine. Kay Jarvis.

I remember her incredibly huge smile whenever she greeted me.  She always was a happy person - never an unkind word about anybody.  A great loss for our class.
