Chuck Terwoord

Obituary

Chuck E. Terwoord, age 71 of Fairborn, passed away Tuesday September 28, 2021 at HarborChase of Beavercreek.  He was born October 9, 1949 in Berea, Ohio, the son of the late Anthony and Adeline (Yanke) Terwoord.  

After graduating from Bowling Green State University, Chuck was employed for his entire education career with Fairborn City Schools where he was a physical education and health teacher.  During that time he mentored many young men as a coach for Fairborn High School wrestling, cross country, soccer, and track, as well as a wrestling assistant coach at Wright State University.  During his time off from school and after he retired, he owned and operated Terwoord Painting for many years.  He also enjoyed building the family cabin in Tennessee where many happy memories were made.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Little Tony and Michael; and sister-in-law, Cher.  Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Nancy; daughter Jen Jennings of West Jefferson, OH; son, Todd Terwoord of Beavercreek; two granddaughters, Madeline and Tennessee; three brothers, Jim of Myrtle Beach, Richie of Berea, Joe (Cindi) of Berea; two sisters, Mary Beth (Dick) Lennox of Eugene, OR, Carol Stuckey of Grove City; sister-in-law, Sheryl Terwoord of Parma; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family, and many friends.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday October 8, 2021 from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn.  A time for remembrances from friends and family will follow at 6:00 P.M.  The family requests that anyone not fully vaccinated, please wear a mask.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fairborn Parks Foundation -or- Hospice of Dayton.
