Nancy Buehler Obituary
Nancy Louise Buehler (nee McCleery) of Berea, Ohio, journeyed home to eternal rest on January 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born in Mount Clemens, Michigan, on October 17, 1952. Her loving parents, William and Iris, created a joyful home for both Nancy and her cherished sister Carol Anne. Their early lessons of faith, family, love and service carried Nancy through the rest of her life. Nancy graduated from Berea High School in 1971 and went on to study education at Ohio University. While there, became a proud sister of Sigma Kappa and graduated in 1975 with her degree in education. Teaching was not just her passion but was a part of her soul. She spent the majority of her career teaching third and fourth grade in Keystone Schools in Lagrange, Ohio, before retiring in 2014 after 39 years in the classroom.
In 1981 she married her best friend and soulmate, Pete Buehler. Then in 1985, the joy of their lives – Megan, was born. The family enjoyed traveling during the summer to Michigan to visit Bear Lake and Manistee, took road trips to Gettysburg, and enjoyed creating many family traditions. After Pete’s passing in 2005, Megan and Nancy’s bond grew even stronger. She was proudest watching Megan find her calling in ministry and watching Megan’s relationship grow with her partner Matt Domoracki. Nancy showed her servant heart even more so in retirement, where she volunteered with SWGH’s Thomas Perciak Family Hospice. Throughout her life, she was an active member of Berea Methodist Church including being Circle leader, Council President, member of UMC Women and GriefShare. She had too many adopted kids and grandkids to count. She was happiest surrounded by her family. Nancy is survived by her daughter Megan and sister Carol Anne.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations sent to The Thomas P. Perciak Family Residential Hospice in Strongsville, Ohio.
Celebration of Life will be on Saturday January 31st at 11am at The United Methodist Church of Berea at 170 Seminary Street in Berea, OH.
Megan and Carol Anne request that friends and family come dressed in their brightest and most fun colors to celebrate the joy and love that Nancy put out into the world.
