Dennis (Denny) Durigg, age 72, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and love.
Born on May 27, 1952, in Akron, Ohio, Denny was a proud graduate of Berea High School, class of 1971. He dedicated over 37 years to the grocery industry, where his hard work and dedication earned him the respect of colleagues and customers alike.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ora (Betty) Durigg. He is survived by his loving daughter, Christine (Wayne), his dear brother Ron and partner Jeannie, and his former wife, Martha.
An avid collector, Denny had a passion for NASCAR diecast cars, beer steins, advertising tins, and Hallmark ornaments. His enthusiasm for sports was evident in his unwavering support for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Guardians, Browns, and Ohio State Football. Denny's enthusiasm for NASCAR was not only reflected in his extensive collection but also in the hats and attire he proudly wore. In his earlier years, he enjoyed bowling, transitioning to a love of watching the sport, along with a keen interest in attending tractor pulls.
Denny led a simple yet fulfilling life, taking immense pride in his garden and the meticulous care of his lawn. Known for his infectious humor and unique ability to give everyone a nickname, brightening the lives of those around him. His cheerful disposition and playful teasing will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Baker, Osinski, Kensinger Funeral Home, 206 Front St, Berea, OH. The funeral service will immediately follow at noon, with interment at Woodvale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dennis' memory may be made to a charity of your choice. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
