George Jacob "Jay" Dofflemyer Jr., 50, of 108 Forked Horn Trail, Winchester, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, in Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal. 

Mr. Dofflemyer was born March 9, 1950, in Winchester, the son of George Jacob and Helen Virginia Myers Dofflemyer. He was a maintenance technician with Cambridge Corp. He was an Air Force veteran and a 1969 graduate of Clarke County High School. He was a member of Berryville VFW Post 9760, Berryville Moose Lodge 2139, American Legion Post 21, and Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 824. 

Surviving with his mother, of Berryville, is a sister, Linda Tavenner of Berryville; and a brother, Dean Dofflemyer of Berryville. 

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville, with Dr. William B. Ingram officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville. 

Pallbearers will be Larry Tavenner, Ronnie Sours, Tommy Dofflemyer, Tommy Larrick, Keith Arthur, Jim Stowors, Fred Unger, Kenny Scott, Max Butler Jr., Bill Boyce, H.M. Baker, and Wes Willingham. 

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the
