Barbara Elaine (Kotte) Fulara
(July 8, 1953 - August 11, 2014)

Barbara Fulara, 61, of Dalzell, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 11, 2014.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, August 15, at the First Baptist Church of LaSalle. Pastor Wesley Waddle will officiate. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Park.

Mrs. Fulara was born on July 8, 1953 in Chicago, IL to Frank “Jim” and June (Ogle) Kotte of Wheaton, IL. Barbara married John Edward Fulara on October 27, 1979.

Barbara graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She received her Master of Arts degree in library and information studies from Northern Illinois University. She worked at Hall High School as an English teacher from 1975-80. She then taught junior and senior high school at LaSalle – Peru Christian School from 1980-82. Since 1985, Mrs. Fulara has served as the library media specialist at Hall High School, and most recently, also taught speech.

Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church of LaSalle, where she also served on the youth committee and the Board of Christian Education. She was a member of the Spring Valley Lions Club, serving as president for two years. She was also a member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Barbara loved life. She considered her husband her best friend and her three daughters were her “jewels.” The greatest moment in Barb’s life took place when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Barb loved her students and looked at her life’s work at Hall High School as a mission field for her Lord.

Barbara is survived by her husband, John, of Dalzell; three daughters, Crystal (Danny) Baker of Sedalia, MO, and Justina and Hannah, both at home; three grandsons, Nathaniel, Ezekiel, and Isaac Baker; three sisters, Linda (Tim) Adams of Knoxville, TN, Jan Stariha of Montgomery, IL, and Diane (Fred) Lehrman of Wheaton, IL; three brothers, Mark (Theresa) Kotte of Hudson, IL, John Kotte of Wheaton, IL, and James “Jim” Kotte of Carol Stream, IL.
