I went to grade school with Carol Kazda, if this is the same Carol Kazda I am thinking about. We went to St. Mary of Celle in Berwyn, IL. I am on classmates right now checking out everything, and noticed in memory of Carol.

I am shocked....

My deepest sympathy.

Carol was diagnosed with a brain tumor and fought so hard against it, but died in 1999. I still miss her every day.

She was able to hold my first daughter when she was a few months old, but now all three of my children know about "Auntie Kaz" because I keep her alive with stories of our antics from the age of six. (Lots of stories from SMC, Regina)

I was so sad to hear that Carol passed away. She was one of the smiling faces I was looking forward to seeing at the reunion. I had many classes with Carol and I just remember her always happy and one of those people you just liked being around because she was a lot of fun and very easy to be with. She had a very sweet smile and I don't think I ever saw her not wearing it. A beautiful girl inside and out. Another example that He takes the good ones way before we are ready to let them go. Kathy, those pictures of her are great, could she be any cuter... I'm sorry you lost your friend.

I had no idea that Carol passed away until now. I remember her very well from St. Mary's too, Regina. She was such a nice, sweet person. I am so sad that this happened to her and her family. I remember you guys always together in grade school, Kathy. I am sorry for the loss you've suffered. I will keep Carol and her family in my thoughts and prayers. What a reminder to not sweat the small things that really don't matter anyway, it is so true. Rest in peace Carol.

Even after all this time I can't write/think about Carol without smiling and crying. I got to be her friend because of Kathy. Best freshman year a person can ask for! So many funny stories to remember from high school for sure, but even my visits back home after I moved to Georgia make me smile. I always giggle when I think of rhubarb pie.(that was a funny phone call to Kathy and Carol) I got to spend some time with Carol while she was fighting her illness and even with all that was going on with her she made me laugh. I still miss her.

Remember our plan to just stalk the first reunion in the parking lot?? I think Kaz was there with us. And I think she won't miss this one with us either.

Carol and I became good friends. As a group, we got together the summer after senior year quite a few times. Then Carol got busy with college and I began to lose touch with people. I'm very saddened to learn about Carol this way. She was a dear friend and is missed.
