I fondly remember Suzanne as one of the first people I met coming to Whitman. A good friend, co-conspirator, and beauty, and yet... a stranger too, like her father I suppose. She is already missed.
Suzanne (always "Sam" to me) was a good friend since elementary school. We were lab partners in 11th grade chemistry. Since we didn't have three in our group (like the rest of the class), we made up our our third team member: Boris X. Our lab reports of failed experiments at the hand of Boris X probably served to improve our literary skills as much as our scientific skills. It was so much fun. Sam was an original with a quirky punk rock sensibility and a generous spirit, and though I haven't seen her in many years, my heart stirs with love and sadness in learning of her passing.
