Kerry Michael Karlix, a deeply devoted family man and avid fisherman, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family.

Kerry was born October 28, 1954 in Moline, Illinois, the oldest son of Donald and June Karlix. He graduated from Bettendorf High School in Iowa in 1972. After high school, he served his country in the United States Navy for two years and attended college classes at Arizona State University.

Kerry spent his career working in the glass business, applying his dedication and work ethic to his trade for almost 45 years. He had a strong finish to his career, retiring from Complete Line Glass in 2025 and thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent working with the team there.

Kerry was proud of the family he built and the deep, unwavering love he had for them. More than anything, Kerry loved his wife, LeeAnn, his children, his grandchildren, his brothers and sisters-in-law, and his many nieces and nephews.

Some of Kerry’s happiest moments were spent outdoors, whether he was casting a line fishing, or simply enjoying the peacefulness of being out on the lake. Kerry was a parishioner of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas and found strength in his Catholic background.

Kerry was preceded in death by his beloved parents, and his youngest brother, Kristopher Karlix.

He is survived by his loving wife, LeeAnn Karlix; his children and step-children, Aaron (Kendra) Karlix, Anne (Chris) Edmonds, Colin Karlix, Sally Frank and Spencer Frank. He was the proud grandfather to four grandchildren who brought him immense joy; Audrey Karlix, Holly Karlix, Drew Edmonds, and Norah Karlix. He also leaves behind his cherished brother Kevin (Susan) Karlix, sister-in-law Pam Rutzinski, his loved nieces and nephews, a circle of extended family and friends and his faithful dog, Charley.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be Thursday, July 23 at 11am at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas. A reception will follow for friends and family.

Kerry’s generous heart will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Kerry’s memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or UT Southwestern Medical Center.
