He was my best friend through Junior High School, but we drifted away when my family moved to a house on Brentwood Road and we had diifferent classes in High School. I went to the 25th reunion, but he was not there. They did have his address and I wrote to him in SF. He wrote back and was glad to hear from me. He was in SF with his son and was an editor. We exchanged Christmas cards for a while and then the cards stopped from his side. Later, I got a letter with Woodyard as the return address. It turned out to be his brother telling me of Doug's death. Doug had contracted AIDS. His brother brought him back to Bexley one more time before Doug died.
