Big Stone Gap - Officials at Bristol Memorial Hospital reported that Barbara Meade Woods, 30 succumbed at about 11 a.m. after a car accident 10 days earlier in Wytheville, VA.
Her husband, Harold Junior Woods, 33, died in the same accident.
She was a member of the Legion Memorial Methodist Church and had been a resident of the Big Stone Gap area most of her life.
Survivors include one son, Allen Todd Meade of the home; her parents, Charlie e. and Anna M. Meade, Big Stone Gap, VA; three brothers, Charles E. Meade, Jr. Detroit MI, Kelley R. Meade, Appalachia, VA and Kerry R. Meade, Big Stone Gap, VA; three sisters, Mrs. Alice M. Derrick, Kingsport, Miss Karen Meade and Miss Kay Meade both of Big Stone Gap; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Powers, St. Paul, VA.
Funeral services for Barbara Meade Woods will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday from the Holding Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Knight and the Rev. E. H. Insko officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park, Woodway, VA.
