Larry Long passed away on March 17, 2017. He lived in Thermopolis, Wyoming.
Larry served in the US Navy In Viet Nam. The Marines got their Medics from the Navy.
He Received the Purple Heart for wounds received in action.

Larry Lester Long, 69, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017, at his residence in Hot Springs County after a short illness.
Born September 19, 1947, in Glendive, Mont., he was one of three children of W.A. and Mary Lou (Stovall) Long. After graduation from high school he joined the U.S. Navy on June 21, 1965, serving as a medic in Vietnam. He received the Purple Heart for wounds received in action serving with the First Medical Battalion First Marine Division. He served in the Naval Reserve and was discharged February 22. 1971.
Larry spent much time in the Glendive area and in the Bull Mountains. He held various jobs in Alaska until 1998, spent 2 years in Montana, a few years in Minnesota and then moved to Thermopolis to ranch in 2004. In 2009 he married Bonnie Bergsma in Hot Springs County.
A member of the VFW and the American Legion, he was a member of Hawthorn Evangelical Church in Billings, Mont. He enjoyed trapping, hunting and playing and singing with his guitar.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie of Thermopolis; sons, Bill of Thermopolis and Bryan of Grants Pass, Ore.; daughter, D’Anna Da’Camara of Grants Pass; stepchildren, Samuel, Douglas and Amanda Siskow, all of Ostrander, Minn., and Timothy Siskow of LeRoy, Minn.; sisters, Boni Braunbeck of Missoula, Mont., and Connie (Steve) McCarthey of Columbus, Mont.; brothers-in-law, Brad Krahn of Spring Valley, Minn., and Shane Watkins of Kirksville, Miss.; sisters-in-law, Beverly (David) Battis of Wenatchee, Wash., and Betty (Kirk) Kunert of Spring Valley, Minn.; and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Harold Farnes; and his grandparents.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held Friday, March 24 at 2 p.m. at the VFW in Thermopolis. Mortimore Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
