Lara "Laura" Denise Schiff, 22, of Billings, died Saturday, July 13, 1991 in a drowning mishap.

Lara was born on Jan. 4, 1969 in Colville, WA, a daughter of Stephen E. and Kristi Schiff. She was a West High graduate and would have been a senior psychology major at the University of Montana this fall. She was a member of Psi Chi Natinal Honor Society. She enjoyed listening to music tapes, dancing and mountain biking in Missoula. She was concerned about the environment, was a member of Amnesty International and was interested in promoting world peace.

She is survived by her parents and a brother, Roger, all of Billings; and grandparents, Buck ad Fran Schilling of Billings and Hazelle Schiff of Pasco WA. Also surviving are two aunts, three uncles and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Frank N. Schiff.

Lara was a joyous person, always willing to give up her time. She actively participated in the Salvation Army Dress A Child program.

Cremation has taken place. A vigil service will be a 7 p.m. Tuesday in Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Patrick's Co-Cathedral.
