In Memory of "LOST" Bears

Michael George Vaughan

from Michelotti-Sawyers

On Tuesday, April 2, our second beautiful star lit the heavens, joining his younger sister Karen Marie as he drew a long, peaceful breath and bid his loving family a farewell, "until we meet again."

With over a year of pain and suffering behind him, Michael or "Mike" as many knew him, had lived with a cancerous brain tumor, and despite the efforts of the best oncologists in the Billings Clinic Cancer Treatment Center, succumbed after a long, brave fight.

For more than 20 years, Mike had been a loyal and dedicated employee at a local family food restaurant; however, near the end of January, his employment was terminated due to a misunderstanding regarding the status of his health issues. This, of course, was a serious blow to an already serious-minded individual who took pride in his work and his many interests; two of which were astronomy and wild bird watching and feeding. Among his favorite social activties were the evenings he could spend "eating out" with his best friend Dave Sanderson.

Mike is survived by his mother, Carol Kemmis and stepfather Ernie Kemmis of Billings; his sister Konnie (Rick) Jansma of Phoenix; his sister Kim (Bill) Lamdin and Elizabeth Barnett; and nephews John Lamdin and Steven Barnett; as well as other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Michael's cremains will be laid to rest a the Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park. A private family memorial gathering will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be sent to the PACT Team at the Billings Mental Helath Center in care of Erik Gatlin, MSW, PACT Team, Mental Health Center, 1245 N 29th St BIllings, MT 59103; the Cancer Society, Billings Area or ato any charity of your choice.
