Joanne Johnson (Harris) - Class Of 1965

Joanne Johnson Harris, A native of the Raimund Community of Bessemer, she was a proud Wenonah Dragon, Class of 65. She also completed Booker T. Washington Business College and Mississippi Valley State University. Her Christian journey began at Mt. Zion Baptist, Martintown and continued to Trinity Baptist where she served with the Comfort and Hope Ministry. Joanne was an Honorably Discharged Army Veteran and Crimson Tide fan. She was Sister of Daughters of Israel Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. A son, Jamar Harris preceded her in death. Precious memories remain with husband of 35 years, Kenneth Harris; children, Ronnie Thomas and Crystal Harris; step son, Yancey Turnipseed; brother, Wendell Baker; grandchildren, Isiah and Amiah. Hour of Homegoing is 1:00 Monday at Trinity Baptist, 900 Graymont Avenue West, Birmingham. Pastor J.E. King, Celebrant. Military Rites and Inhumation follow at Highland. Family Visitation is 3:00 until 5:00 Sunday. Calling Hours at Johnson Memorial, Bessemer, Sunday Noon until 9:00. Obituary
