Betty Atmore (Merriweather) - Class Of 1963

Funeral service for Betty Rose Merriweather 75, will be Sunday, August 9, at 1:30 pm at the Anniston City Meeting Center with Rev. Carlton Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Anniston Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Merriweather passed away on August 2, 2020. Public visitation will be Saturday, 2 - 6 pm at Anniston Funeral Service. Mrs. Merriweather was the Co-founder and First Lady of Merriweather Global Ministries. She also started Girl Talk, she was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, she recently retired from Anniston City School System where she served 18 years as a teacher and 12 years as a principal. She served with the Ward 3 Water Board member, The Family Knook, The Children's Place, Elisa's Pantry and schools in Jamaica and Kenya. Her educational background includes graduating from Wenonah High School in Birmingham, Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville,AL. Mrs. Merriweather was a member of the Iota Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Deacon B.C. Atmore and Sis. Lucy Bell Atmore, her husband, Rev. Dr. J.E. Merriweather Sr.. Anniston Funeral Service Jeffrey C. WIlliams 2562360319
