Carolyn McAdams (Simpson) - Class Of 1963

Carolyn Simpson was born on March 2, 1945, in Birmingham, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Lucy McAdams; two sisters, Diane Crenshaw, and Connie Boyd; and four brothers, Ron McAdams, Darryl McAdams, Willie Alvin McAdams, and Leonard McAdams.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jeremiah Simpson. He was the love of her life. They met and married after meeting at the Ohio State Fair in 1982, and remained united until his death in 2009.
Carolyn attended and graduated from Wenonah High School in 1963. She attended college in Indiana. As a child, she confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

She later became a Jehovah's Witness in 1969 while living in Japan.
Carolyn gave birth to four spirited children, three girls, Kenthia McCleod, Valoria Slaughter (Dave), and Yvonne Cooper (Mark), and one son, Harold Alcorn. She was grandmother, "GeeMa," to Allen, DeMico, DeMyah, DeMicia, DeMaris, DeMarhia, Jelani, Devin, Jada, Alyssa, David, and Valoria Elaina. She was great-grandmother to Ca'llen, Treanton, Jamel, Nova, Naomi, and Jade.

Carolyn was a beloved and well-known resident of Willow Brook Christian Home. The exceptional care given by the staff is truly appreciated. Carolyn had many loves. She truly enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, sewing, cowboy movies, cake decorating, Mowtown music, and studying the Bible.
She also enjoyed traveling and conducting Bible studies as a Jehovah's Witness. Her greatest love, however, was for her family whom she cherished. We will dearly, dearly miss her.
