PAUL CHILDRESS, of Calera, AL, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. He was born on September 27, 1946 in Birmingham, AL. Paul served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Jefferson County Board of Education as a Systems Analyst. Mr. Childress was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ulysses (Ida) Childress, his brother, Raymond Childress and sister, Doris Merriweather. He is survived by his wife, Cassandra F. Childress; children, Stephen Childress, Vanessa (Ronald) Lamb, Christopher Childress and Patrick Childress; seven brothers, two sisters, three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 11 am at New Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Calera, AL. Interment will follow at 1:15 pm at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL. Davenport & Harris directing.
