This daughter of Freeman and Eloise Smith of Sand Ridge was affectionately called "Big Pat". She accepted Christ at neighboring Shady Grove Baptist Church and later united with Mt. Olive Baptist. She graduated in the 1968 Class of Wenonah High School, retired from Homewood School System and was predeceased by a son, William "Jelly" Sloan. Precious memories linger with children, Wanda (Andre) McMillan, Michael (Angela) and Kelvin (LaReatha) Sloan, Sr,; brothers, Vincent, Sr. (Lisha), Leon and Ronald Smith. Farewell Hour is 11:00 Saturday at Mt. Olive Baptist, 3320 Willard Avenue SW. Pastor Jesse Young, Officiant. Inhumation follows at Zion Memorial.
