
Rhonda Faye Morrow passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024, in her hometown of Bessemer, Alabama. Born December 31, 1951, in Jefferson County, Alabama, Rhonda was the cherished daughter of the late Roosevelt and Mary Lou Benison Rogers.
A proud graduate of Wenonah High School's Class of 1970, Rhonda went on to achieve remarkable academic and professional success. She earned her undergraduate degree from Birmingham Southern College in 2003 and later completed an MBA from Capella University. Rhonda devoted her time and talents to New Hope Baptist Church as Sunday School Teacher and Trustee. She was a member of the Choir and Matrons. Rhonda dedicated decades of service to the Bessemer Housing Authority, where her diligence and compassion enriched countless lives. Alongside her career, she earned her real estate license and ultimately retired from the State of Alabama as a Financial Support Worker.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Rhonda found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was a talented seamstress who could bring fabric to life with her skillful hands. A devoted fan of General Hospital, she rarely missed an episode. She loved gathering with family and friends, savoring lively conversations and delicious barbeque.
Rhonda is preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt and Mary Lou; siblings Joils Ikner, Roosevelt Rogers, Jr. and Mattie Walker.
Rhonda's family was the center of her world, and she held a deep love for each member. She is survived by her beloved children, Caronell (Katara) Morrow and Leslie "Nikki" Morrow; siblings, Gary L. Rogers, Karen A. Rogers, Cheryl A. Rogers, Rodney Rogers, Rodrick Rogers and Veda O. Hall; her cherished grandchildren, Darius Morrow, Brandon Morrow and Tia Byrd. She was also blessed with the title of great-grandmother, though she mourned the loss of her great-grandchild, Darian Ezra Lewis-Morrow.
Homegoing Celebration is 1:00 Saturday, December 7, 2024, at New Hope Baptist, 3203 Arlington Avenue, Bessemer. Pastor Jessie McAlpine, Officiant. Inhumation follows at Highland Memorial Gardens. Calling Hours at Johnson Memorial, Bessemer, Friday Noon until 8:00 with Family Visitation from 5:00 until 7:00.
Rhonda's warmth, strength, and wisdom touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, determination and an unwavering commitment to her family and community.
