Everytime I think of Tinisha and the horrible truth that surrounds her death I get chillbumps. Towards the end of our high school career the two of us really began to understand each other, I'd even talked to her a couple of times after graduation, met her daughter, visited her house....I still to this day can't believe that she's gone. To be taken from your family, life, and children in such a way....When I think of Tinisha I think of her long hair, her curly ponytail and crazy laugh. Most importantly, I think of the great person I had the opportunity to know...she is missed.

Birmingham, Ala. - A Birmingham teacher's aide was gunned down while she was sitting on the front porch. It happened more than four years ago, and the killer is still out there. But Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper says if you know something about the crime, you have a responsibility to speak up.

From Chief Roper:

"Tinisha Nicole Malone was only 25 years old. She still had so much of her life ahead of her. But on the night of August 10, 2004, someone came from out of the darkness and shot her to death. ABC 33/40 Talkback:

It happened at her grandmother's home along George Avenue Southwest. Malone was sitting there with a friend when the killer came from the side of the house and fired several shots.

Malone was killed and left behind two children of her own. And she was also loved by other children at Bush Middle School where she was a seventh grade teacher's aide.

A friend of Ms. Malone's was also on the porch that night. He said as soon as the gunfire started, he ducked, and he was unable to lead us to a suspect.

But we think the public can help.

Was Ms. Malone concerned someone might harm her? Did she have any disputes with anyone else before her death? Who could have blended in, hiding next to that house, knowing she would be there?
