Our most dear and loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend, Brian Wolf, 46, of Lake St. Louis, Mo., passed away Nov. 18, 2008, surrounded by his family, after a courageous and valiant battle against cancer.

Brian was born and raised in Bismarck, N.D. He graduated in 1980 from Century High School, where he met his loving wife Kathy (Tormey).

 

They were married in 1984, had three children, and resided in Bismarck until 2001. He graduated from Bismarck State College and later received a bachelor of science degree in Criminal Justice from Minot State University and a master of science degree in Public Administration from the University of North Dakota.

 

He worked at National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC) as Chief Operating Officer, Utility, and Vice President of the Utility Solutions Division from 2004 until his death. From 2001 to 2004, he was Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the State of Montana, residing in Helena. From 1982 to 2001, he worked for Basin Electric Power Cooperative in Bismarck, N.D., holding various positions including: Manager of Marketing and Administration for BTI, Manager of Technology Transfer for BEPC, and Security Director.

 
 

Brian enjoyed many interests including spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He will always be remembered for his vision and inspiration, leadership qualities and passion for his work. He was a very loving husband and father who will be missed for his quick wit, his sharp mind and his devotion to his family and friends.

 

Brian is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Jenna (23), Dane (21) and Elizabeth (19); mother and stepfather, Patricia and Don Ehlis of Bismarck, N.D.; brother, Bradford Wolf of Superior, Colo.; stepbrother Dion Ehlis of Plymouth, Minn.; stepsister, Dawn (Ehlis) Hatzenbuehler of Mandan, N.D.; special person, Marcy Dickerson (Bismarck, N.D.); mother in-law and father in-law, Marie and Tom Tormey of Mesa, Ariz.; his loving nieces and nephews; and extended family, friends and co-workers.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Wolf; and his grandparents, Ignatz and Anna Wolf and Leonard and Eva Tomek.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Stand Up To Cancer, Livestrong: Lance Armstrong Foundation, or the cancer charity of choice in memory of Brian.

 
 

A memorial service will be held at Church of the Ascension in Bismarck, N.D., on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 11 a.m.
