Obituary
Sandra Belnap Jackson, 79
Sandra Belnap Jackson, 79 of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away peacefully at her home after battling cancer.
She was born in Blackfoot, Idaho on February 23, 1944, to Vere Ellsworth Belnap and Sarah Veora Olson Belnap. She grew up attending school in the Snake River School District and graduated from Snake River High School. Following graduation she attended Stevens Henagar College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She kept busy while waiting for her best friend Dennis Jackson to return from his mission in Germany. The two were married on November 24, 1965, in the Idaho Falls Temple and have remained deeply in love and the closest of friends ever since. They moved to Granger, Utah for several years before returning to Blackfoot and raised their family of five, Christa, Kurt, Carla, Troy, and Leslie Kay.
After high school in Idaho, she worked for the Atomic Energy Company. While in Utah she worked at the state capital for the Utah State Land Board. After raising her family in Idaho, she worked as an office manager at Finn Chiropractic, but she found her greatest joy as a piano teacher and mother.
Sandra loved to play the piano and held several church callings as ward organist and at one time even played for every organization including Priesthood. Her family and ward members knew her as an amazing cook and seamstress. She loved her family and made sure she made it to every possible family event, big and small, and made sure to bring food. She enjoyed being outside camping and working in the garden teaching her kids how to snap peas without eating them all.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Dean Jackson, children, Christa (Dan) Harper of Bountiful, UT, Kurt Dean (Shannon) Jackson of Pingree, ID, Carla (Trevor) Wirth of Bountiful, UT, Troy Dennis (Amanda) Jackson of Santa Clara, UT and Leslie Kay (Steven) Cook of Layton, UT, her siblings, Delwyn (Florence) Belnap of Arizona, Gene (Lynda) Belnap of Salt Lake City, UT, Shauna (David) Likes of Meridian, ID, Brian (Jackie) Belnap of Kaysville, UT and Blair (Victoria) Belnap of Evanston, WY, her sisters-in-law, Deaun Belnap of Tooele, UT and Elaine Belnap of Blackfoot, ID, 20 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
