1943 - 2014 | Obituary | Condolences
Barbara Ann Walker, 71, passed away Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Ann was born Sept. 7, 1943, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Bill and Barbara Gay. Ann grew up in Fort Hall and later Pingree. She attended Snake River High School, where she played in the band and had many friends. She graduated in 1961.
In 1963, she met and married Ed Walker. They built a lovely home in Idaho Falls and had two children, Creig and Trina. Ann and Ed celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year.
Ann was caring, strong, fun and generous. She spent her days loving selflessly and enjoyed time in the outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing. She particularly enjoyed out-fishing the boys, especially her brother. She even kept a concealed weapon permit throughout her life.
She took much pride in her children and grandchildren and spent many an afternoon playing baseball in the yard with them.
Ann took pride in her home, and she was a wonderful cook. Everyone always felt welcome at her house, and no one ever left hungry! Her smile and kind-heartedness will be cherished and missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by husband, Edward T. Walker of Idaho Falls; son, Creig E. (Rina) Walker of Salt Lake City; daughter, Trina A. (Kurt) Keefer of Boise; brother, Jerry W. (Karen) Gay, and sister Ronda L. (Thomas) Hale, both of Blackfoot; six grandkids, Tesla Anne, Stephen Edward, Kaisha Dee, Andrew David, Austin Jacob and Morgan Jolene; and one great-grandchild, Harper Joon.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Harry "Bill" Gay, and her mother, Barbara L. Gay.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2015. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave.
Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
