
Ramon D Smullin "Ray" 1944 - 2004. Our Loving husband, wonderful father, granpa extraordinaire and accomplished writer died unexpectedly and returned to our Heavenly Father on April 7th, 2004 at age 59. He was born on August 5th, 1944 to Ralph and Geraldine Smullin. He married his lovely sweetheart, Louise Benson and they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple om September 15th, 1967. He was a devoted father and excellent example to his three childern. Ray was converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ as a teenager and served an LDS mission to the Alaska, Canadian mission. His life was spent testifying by not only his word, but also by his exemplary service to his Heavenly Father through numerous church callings. Another way that his testimony lives on through his two books that he reserched, wrote and published. Ray was an avid reader and possessed an almost photographic memory. This memory allowed him to be knowledgable in many areas. In his quiet and subtel way, he was always willing to help and make others feel good about themselves. He was loved and admired by all. He is survived by Louise, his wife of 36 years, his son Brian and Jenifer (Courtney, Tyler and Trevor), his daughter Leann and Adam (Janise and Balie) and his son Kevin and Wendy (Kaleb). Also survived by his three brothers Andy, Jesse and Fred and mother-in-law Marian Benson. He is preceded by his parents and his father-in-law E. William Benson.Furneral Service will be held Monday, April 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Millcreek Stake Center, 4220 South 420 East. In Ray's Honor, there will be a viewing on Sunday, April 11 from 6-8 p.m. at valley View Furneral Home located at 4335 West 4100 South in West Valley City, and one hour prior to the service at the Stake Center. Interment will be at the Valley View Memorial Park.
