Gary was a proud supporter of his school and the best husband, father and grandfather to have ever graced the face of this earth. He is missed by so many family and friends.

There are two things I think of when I think of Gary.
I heard that he once won a bet with his high school co-workers at Mick-Or-Mack by eating a whole jar (?) of mayonnaise.
Not long before Gary became ill I saw him at a restaurant in Roanoke. I was hesitant to approach him because I was afraid he would not remember me. But when I went over to him, he remembered me, smiled and embraced me with one of the warmest hugs I have ever had. He made me feel very special. I have a feeling he was like that to many people, making them feel special and loved. I miss him and I will always remember that hug.

Gary was such a sweet guy. I remember that his smile would light up a room. I agree with Vicki, he was blessed with the gift of always being able to make others feel special.

I think he and Scarlet were together since grade school. What a great couple! Whenever I think of Gary, I always see Scarlet beside him.
