Betty Swain Andrews

Mrs. Betty Swain Andrews, age 60, of Summit Way, Blairsville, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2014, following an extended illness. Mrs. Andrews was born on September 5, 1953 in Blairsville, GA, the daughter of the late James Clyde Swain and the late Eula Mae Davis Swain. Betty owned and operated Choestoe Adventures for over ten years. She graduated from North Georgia College and also Georgia Southern. In her spare time she loved to cross stitch. She was preceded in death by her parents and also a brother, James Swain, and by two sisters, Virgie Swain and Laura Swain. Mrs. Andrews was a member of Track Rock Baptist Church. Surviving Mrs. Andrews are one sister, Dot Payne of Blairsville, Three nephews, David and Rachael Hancock of Blairsville, Robert and Amy Rogers of Blairsville, Greg Payne of Blairsville, two nieces, Elizabeth Hooper of Blairsville and Gwen Hooper of Blairsville, her best friend, Grace Owenby of Blairsville. Her care taker and friend, Sherry Langston of Blairsville, several great nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends  also survive. Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 3 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Stacy Dyer officiating. Special music will be presented by Julie Payne and Martha Davenport. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, James Bridges, Darin Bridges, Darrell Bridges, Carson Owenby, David Tanner and Andrew Burks. Interment will follow in the Choestoe Baptist Church Cemetery. Mountain View Funeral Home in Blairsville, GA is in charge of the arrangements.
