Curtis Gilbert, 51, of Blakely died Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the Early Memorial Hospital Emergency Room.
Mr. Gilbert was born in Blakely July 22, 1956, to the late John Gilbert and Corrine Gilbert. He was a member of the Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and worked for the Early County Road Department.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Aronia Gilbert; and a brother, Calvin Gilbert.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Tellis of Blakely; a son, Curtis Gilbert of Albany; two stepsons, Dexter D. Williams of Albany and Johnson Curtis Beckwith of Florence, Ala.; four brothers, Willie Gilbert and wife Gladys, John Gilbert, Howard Gilbert and Harvey Gilbert, all of Blakely; five sisters, Lucile Cawthon, Annie Ree Graham and husband George, Minnie Alexander and Rubly Gilbert, all of Blakely, and Mary Gilbert of Upper Marlboro, Md.; four grandchildren, Katrina McCoy, Jamiyah McCoy, J'Qyan McCoy and Dremon Tellis; and two step-grandchildren, Abreshe Aunna Williams and Quanterra Williams.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. John Arthur Severson officiating. Interment followed at Green Cemetery.
Peoples Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
