Victoria (Vicki) Daugherty (Kasper)

Victoria K. Kasper obituary, West Chicago, IL

Victoria "Vicki" K. Kasper of Wheaton, IL, passed away on September 13, 2024, at the age of 78.
As a mother to Ann (Lonnie) Catanese, RJ (Antoinette) Serpico, and Cara (Lyron Brooks) Ciolino, Vicki was the epitome of a "mom", loving and nurturing, always placing the needs of her children above her own. She was a guiding star in their lives, a constant source of support and wisdom. Her role as a Nanny to OJ (Marina) Catanese, Joseph Catanese, Joey Ciolino, Olivia Ciolino, Talia Catanese, Joey Serpico, Victoria Ciolino, and Anthony Serpico was one she cherished deeply. Vicki instilled in her grandchildren the values of kindness and generosity, and her legacy will undoubtedly live on through them.

Vicki's passion for life was evident in her many interests. She was an avid gardener, finding joy in the simple pleasure of tending to her plants and watching them flourish under her care. Her talents extended to the kitchen, where she enjoyed both baking and cooking, delighting family and friends with her delicious creations. Holidays were a special time for Vicki, as she relished in hosting her family, creating an atmosphere of warmth and celebration that will be fondly remembered by all who were lucky enough to be a part of it.

Above all, as a mom and Nanny, Vicki's selfless love was her greatest gift to her family, a gift that they will carry with them always.
Vicki was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Rick" Kasper; her parents, Earl and Dorothy Daugherty; and two of her siblings, Diane Brent and David Daugherty. Along with her children and grandchildren, Vicki leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Dyke (Sheryl) Daugherty, along with many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Visitation for Vicki will be held at DuPage Funeral Chapel (951 W. Washington Street, West Chicago) on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 4-8 PM.

It is thanks to Ron Bess, who made me aware of Vicki’s passing, or I am not sure if we would have learned of this very sad loss. Vicki was so special and so loved by so many in our class. It seems fitting to repeat a couple of messages she posted prior to our 50th class reunion that so nicely expressed her shared love for this class as so many of us do. Rest in peace Vicki!

Happy, Happy 50th everyone!! I hope you have a wonderful celebration! I send warm greetings to all of you…

Bloomington, and BHS will always remain close to my heart, although I very seldom get back to Bloomington, I was recently thinking of how blessed I was as a child and teenager to have spent such important years in a town like Bloomington-Normal surrounded by such wonderful family and friends. So many of you I still have memories of. Some heartwarming, some sad, such as the ones we have lost, and some just downright funny. I can see from the forum that a great sense of humor remains with so many, and I love that!

I only have about a million photos of family and friends and will try to gather some up to put on my profile. With 5 children and 10 grandchildren, just imagine!

Hugs to all my 1964 graduating classmates….have fun…we really are not too old to have fun!

Have a great time at the class reunion….I’m still digesting the thought that it has been that long since we walked the halls of good old BHS!
