In Memory

Brad Branam - Class Of 1987

Many years ago I met a boy who had the most amazing blue eyes and the longest eyelashes I had ever seen. He introduced himself as Brad and we became fast friends. My memories of our friendship are definitely some of my fondest memories of my time spent at CCS. Myself, Brad, Larry Hardin and Rhonda Hawkins were basically inseparable. Even though we were talked to several times about how it looked, the four of us always hanging around, we never let that stop us. I could always depend on Brad for honesty and sincerity in every piece of advice or every comment that he ever made. I still carry a postcard in my bible that he sent to me from the Smokey Mountains, when he was there on a Bible verse trip, that I wasn’t able to go on. His love for the Lord was evident in everything that he did and in every aspect of his life. After my graduation, we didn’t stay as close as I would have liked but when we did see each other, we could pick right up like we had never been apart. We promised each other that we would be friends for life, we kept our promise, I’m just so sorry that we didn’t know how short of time that would be.

Brad,

I want you to know that there was never a friend like you or after you. I thank God for what time we did have together, playing basketball & football (all the good "boy" sports that Rhonda and I loved) and our many heart to heart talks. Your short but powerful life made a huge impression on me and on everyone who ever met you. I miss you daily and think of you often.

Your friend always,

Stephanie

Yes, Stephanie pretty much said it all. Brad was such a great friend! Larry, Steph, Brad & I have a lot of great memories from high school. I will never forget the day I heard about Brad's accident. It was such a shock! His life here on earth was way to short. I think of him often...

See you again someday :)

Rhonda
