Two pictures from the past, the first being what was Holy  Trinity Catholic  High School later  changed to Central Catholic High School which ended up being razed when  they built a new one off of Route 9 going East.

The wonderful lunch counter at Woolworths!

My mother would always take me to Woolworths for lunch when she shopped downtown. Thanks for the memory.

I saw this on Facebook this morning and found it very interesting, especially for those who went to Edward's School.

Edwards Grade  School, 801 W. Market Street, built for $51,000 in 1903 was designed by Paul O.Moratz and was in use from 1903 to 1969..  Early on November 4, 1984 the old school burned in a spectacular fire.  It was the third major fire in Bloomington in 10 weeks, along with the Griesheim Building fire Aug. 26 and the Sinorak Smorgasbord on September 12.

So true!

If I could live my life over again, I would have gone to bed to rest when I felt sick, instead of pretending that the earth would stop if I wasn't at work for a day.

I would have burned out the pink candle carved like a rose instead of letting it melt in the pantry.

I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over even if there is a stain on the carpet and the sofa needs cleaning .

I would have eaten popcorn in the "good" room and wouldn't have worried so much about dust when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather telling stories from his youth.

I would never have insisted on driving with the car windows down on a beautiful summer day just because my hair was freshly styled and fixed.

I would have been lying on the meadow with my head on the grass.

I would have cried and laughed less watching TV and more watching life.

But, most of all, to have a second chance at life, I would cherish every moment, I would really look at it.

I would live it.

I wouldn't worry so much about petty and small things.

. . . Don't worry about those who don't like you, or rather, you shouldn't care who does what. Instead, let's cherish the friends we have and the people who love us.

Let's think about the things God has blessed us with. And what we do every day to improve our mind, body, soul, emotions.

Sorry, I will miss today's breakfest at SHANNON'S.  However, I will be in Bloomington on the week of July 22 for Marion's 60th High School Reunion at NCHS.

We never miss a chance to have breakfest at Shannons.  We intend to be there on July 24th Wed at 9:00 A.M.   If any of the class happens to be there, we would enjoy visiting with you.
