I grew up as a Dodger fan. About 50 years ago, I went to Vero Beach and got to see them in spring training. Back then, it was more like watching a high school game. You were up close to the players. One game against the Reds, there was a free orange juice stand. I was in line and Don Sutton, the Dodger ace at the time, was in line a couple of people in front of me. By the time I got to the juice, Don poured me a cup and talked to me for a couple of minutes. Their coach, Tommy Lasorda, talked to me for several minutes too. Then after the game, I went near the bus as the players were loading on and I asked Dusty Baker for his autograph on my game program. He looked at it and said "You only have Jim Gilliam's name on here. I'll be right back." He took the program on the bus and got everyone to sign it. I was an adult but felt like a giddy kid then. Loved Dodger Town. Have fun there, Larry.
