James W. Cetin

 

The funeral of James W. Cetin, 44, of 201 Willard Ave., Bloomington, will be a 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington, the Rev. David Peters officiating.

Burial will be private.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Beck Memorial Home, and for one hour before the funeral on Tuesday at the church.

Mr. Cetin died saturday (June 20, 1987) at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, after being stricken at a swim meet he was attending.

He was born April 11, 1944, in Normal, a son of Daniel and Dorothy H. Wilson Cetin. He married Gretchen Dunlap Aug. 28, 1965, in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Matthew and James, at home, and one daughter, Lucy Renee, also at home.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, past board member and president of the Redbird Swim Club, past board member and age group consultant for Prairie Cities Soccer League, past president of the Washington School Parent Teacher Association.

He was a 1962 graduate of Bloomington High School and received a bachelor of arts degree in business administration and accounting from Washington University, St. Louis, Mo.

He was a member of the Illinois Certified Public Accountants Society, a member of the American Institute of CPA's, was a CPA for the administrator of financial planning and analysis for Country Companies, and also was co-owner of One Hour Photo at College Hills Mall, Normal.

Memorials may be made to the redbird Swim Club Memorial Fund.

Jim was my best friend in and out of school and I think of him often. He was the best man at my wedding and  I introduced him to his wife, Gretchen. His son, Matt looks just like him and their daughter is a prominent lawyer in the Indianapolis area.
