She was a friend of mine. Her father was Chief of the Fire Dept... Her father and mine were in WWII together and were friends for a long long time... Her father was white... her mother was hispanic.. and yes there was discrimination involved back then.... My father and her father were friends for over 40 years.... I knew way back that discrimination was wrong. Her mother was Hispanic but had discrimination... We were raised under the cloud of discrimination against blacks. But we had President Kennedy, who I was always very proud to be my hero.. I know that I never went ot Miss as an advocate for civil rights,,,, but I wanted to so much..... It make you wonder,,, about our foreign exchange student Matt..... from Japan... what did he really have to endure during his time here... I think proudly that we all treated him with respect. He got all A,s as I remember... He was out for wresliing lso. he was a great guy... Sorry if I ramble....I was proud of my classmates... You were all smart and great at sports,,, but better than that you were all great people. When I went to Vietnam,,,, I no longer looked at a person being black or white,, or hispanic.. they were my brothers. Sorry I say too much... By the way... never ever ever judge people by their relatives that may bring them down. This lady was a beautiful human being. Saying anything about her relatives is horrible and says more about those blaming than those who praise.
