The funeral of Janet L. (Haxel) Taylor, 52, of 830 W. Elm St., Bloomington, will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St Patrick's Church, both in Bloomington. The Rev. Glenn H. Harris will officiate. Entombment will be in Park Hill Mausoleum, Bloomington.  Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. She died at 5:02 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 21, 1997) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center. Surviving are her husband, John B. Taylor; her mother, Wanda Haxel Kirby, Bloomington; one daughter, Ronda Glenn, Stanford; two sons, John B. Taylor II, Bloomington; and Jeffrey McLean Taylor, at home; two sisters, Judith A. Hayes, Gridley; and Mary E. Whaley, Lexington; and one brother, Delmar William Haxel, Costa Mesa, Calif.

Also surviving are her two grand-daughters, the "light of her life" Shelby and Megan Taylor, her daughter-in-law, P.J. (Valentine) Taylor, and a son-in-law, Brad Glenn.

Her father preceded her in death.

She was born June 5, 1944, in Bloomington, a daughter of Delmar W. and Wanda Parrott Haxel. She married John B. Taylor May 26, 1970 at Springfield.

Mrs. Taylor was a 1962 graduate of Bloomington High School and had been a self-employed beautician at her home for many years. She was presently a crossing guard at College and Adelaide Streets in Normal and will be dearly missed by her students and friends.

She was the charter marshal of Bloomington Emblem Club 432, a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and a past president of the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Patrick's Church. She was active for 15 years in Special People Encounter Christ and Homes of Hope.

She excelled as a home care giver for the sick and disabled. She was a dedicated homemaker an avid crafter and mother to many appreciative, neglected young people.
