Diana E. Walden

Diana E. Walden, 72 of Bloomington died at 2:00 AM Monday October 10, 2016 at her residence.

There will be a funeral service for Diana on Thursday October 13, 2016 at First Christian Church in Bloomington at 10 AM. The Rev. Dr. Jim Warren will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday October 12, 2016 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington. Interment will be in Park Hill Cemetery in Bloominton.

Diana was born May 5, 1944 in Bloomington to Edgar Thomas and Emily Ruth Eft Moore. She married Wayne Lee Walden on April 3, 1963 in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two great grandsons Derrick and Robert and numerous brother and sister in laws.

She is survived by her four daughters, Cathy (Rick Blumstein) Walden of Bloomington, Becky (Robert) Raney of Normal, Vicky Walden of Bloomington, Julie (Roosevelt Nicholas) of Bloomington, twenty-nine grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, five brother in laws, two sister in laws and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Diana was a member of First Christian Church in Bloomington where she was active. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren and was active in the McLean County Democratic Party as well as The Great Banquet “Emmas”.

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Roosevelt Nicholas and Dennis Skinner for the care & compassion given to their mother in her final days. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, family, friends and her faithful companion “Boots”.
