Donald L. "Murph" Murphy of 407 E. Chestnut, Bloomington, died at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 2, 1994) at St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. He had been ill the past four months.
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Metzler-Froelich Memorial Home, with Chaplain Carol L. Mayernick officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the memorial home.
Mr. Murphy was born March 6, 1944, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, a son of Maurice and Lois Soberg Murphy. He married Sharon Herman Feb. 5, 1993 in Bloomington. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Bloomington; one son, Mark, Bloomington; two daughters, Kelly Kohl, Bloomington, and Angie Murphy, Kettering, Ohio; two step-daughters, Chris Bassett and Cheryl Ritchie both of Bloomington; three grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Murphy was employed with Stern Furniture, Bloomington, for 20 years. For the past seven years, he was employed at Winnie's Men's Wear in Bloomington.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Medical Center's hospice unit.
