NORMAL — Marlene A. Rever, 67, Normal, died Monday (Feb. 25, 2013) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

A private family service will be at a later date. Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or a charity of the donor’s choice.

She was born March 5, 1945, in Bloomington, the daughter of Albert G. and Helen Lapinski Schroeder. She married Phillip H. Rever on Aug. 3, 1963, at St. Patrick’s Church, Bloomington. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Phillip Todd (Jennifer Oliver) Rever, Kappa, and Scott Joseph Rever, Normal; a daughter, Christine Ann (Chuck Rousey) Rever, Bloomington; four grandchildren, Douglas, Madison, Logan and Abbegail; a brother, Jack (Pat) Schroeder; a sister-in-law, Jean Schroeder; four nieces; and eight nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ron; and a sister, Judith.

Mrs. Rever graduated from Trinity High School. She worked at the Eureka Co. from 1962-69 as an engineering secretary and also at The Pantagraph as an accounting clerk from 1982 until her retirement.

She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, following their achievements throughout their lives. She especially enjoyed her time with her husband, outdoors, fishing, hunting, auctions and garage sales. They enjoyed many hobbies together.
