I told myself that I would boycott MN if Al Franken became a MN Senator. Looks like I might stay away for awhile. Now if he wears bell bottoms and platform shoes I may change my mind......

Ya know - I bet if enough of us called him with that suggestion he would pull out of his closet and and brush off the dust!!

Bret -
I have to bet a few of you guys still have some of the good old poly, plaid pants and wide collars around --Seger where are you on this one??

Betty M. Pate (Jorgenson)

John and Bret could never be bullies. But the BULLY story is an old one from Connell's English class. I believe it was retold several months back on this site prior to the reunion. It was told so well that I was immediately transported back and could visualize the whole scene as if it were yesterday!

Bret,

1) I am a day late (well, maybe two weeks). Thanks for traveling south and it was a great couple of days to hang out and talk about the years. I have been away from MN so long when I read the stories, I don't even remember where they took place, except.........White Castle.
2) I can't believe you brought up the disco days! I still laugh so hard thinking about the clothes and the moves.
3) Moving to San Diego in May and will be there for a couple of years. Start planning the hunting trips so we can relive 8th grade only this time I plan on getting a shot off. Maybe Gorski and Utterburg can show for a mini-reunion.

You guy's always had a great sense of humor, I laughed so hard. It is amazing how we survived polyester and those moves. That bully comment Mr. Connel made that would just completely shut us down and then we'd try not to laugh so hard. Does anyone remember Mr. Fjelde's, Uff Da! kw

Good to hear your going to be with friends again. Dale(Salisbury) was stationed there for several years. Not that your not now, but EAGLES RULE!! And, it makes it easier for you to get home once in a while.

Awsome pic of you at the Kubal Hall sign!!

Lorie,
Keep reading, you'll remember the important things. Bike run sounds great, but I will not be building my trike this spring -- got notice Thursday, my company is closing April 6th. I will have a comp pkg but that needs to cover the house and kids. Have not come back from the last closure a few years back so goona be tight. NOW I am looking forward to ANY stim package!!!

I love your JOEY creation! Inspiring.

Kathy,
Uf DA - ya you betcha!!!

Steve,

Chuck, that is great news that you will be in San Diego for a couple of years. We have about 30 years of catching up to do so this should do it. We can further discuss White Castle and the disco era, maybe over some pizza burgers and Mountain Dew or an ice cold PBR. Just for old times sake of course.
First hunting trip is wild boar the end of March in Central CA. Another one typically over Memorial Day weekend same place.
See you soon!
BULLY! (That's for you Betty)

Just a lil FYI...I retired! YAY me :)

To all of you back at home...enjoying the weather? It's 68 today and I had my morning coffee out on my porch swing.

Now, all I need are some grand children!

Dona M. Trabant (Inman)

Julie,
Lets trade for a few months! You have the quiet porch and coffee on -- i have two very energetic grandkids running around. Do you like, sledding, fishing, bowling? They are soon to be 8 and 10.

Happy Birthday to you Steve Everaert!

Julie B,

I just looked at your profile update and about died laughing when I saw the Portland yearbook picture with Brian McGinley, Bret Corbin and me. Guess I can't laugh at the hair being worn at the high school now! The 70s have returned. How did you get all those left handers on one softball team? No wonder you guys were the champions, it through everyone else off balance. I thought there was only supposed to be one token lefty on a team. I think there is a rule somewhere about that.

Bret,

I will miss the first boar season because I will still be here and I will be at sea the end of May. If the season continues until the end of June we can make it work.
Do we really have to drink PBR even if it is just for old times sake? How about Grain Belt instead? YIKES Excited to see you down there and both of my sons and my daughter want to go hunting this fall!

02/12/09 09:46 PM #739

Barbara C. Brings (Williams)

Happy Birthday Steve, same day as Abraham Lincoln!

02/12/09 10:16 PM #740

PBR - Grain belt ??? when did you two turn into (girly drinkers?) how not a few fingers of JD or Jose'?

--- Steve being compared to Abraham --

Steve- lets get the chipmunk high

take care everyone - we survived another full moon
now lets deal with Friday the 13th

02/13/09 09:55 AM #741

Bret C. Corbin

Chuck,
Boar hunting is all year in CA so no worries we WILL go. If your kids are really interested in hunting here you have some phenomenal opportunities. I'll fill you in later.

Dona,
If I am putting on bell bottoms and platform shoes and hanging out with Chuck we are going to drink PBR, Grain Belt, Schlitz, Hamms and whatever other cheap beer we can find. Just for old time's sake of course.

02/13/09 02:58 PM #742

Douglas S. Utterberg

Bret and Chuck You know it only took "beer" to come into the conversation and I had to post. Good to see everyone using this site. Bret, count me in, I was born ready! See ya!

02/13/09 04:44 PM #743

John A. Gorski

Bret and Chuck,

How about the two of you go hunting while Doug and I do a little fishing in that pond that I single-handedly drained dry a few years ago with Dobberpuhl? (well, Jeff "watched") It should be well stocked by now and then afterwards we can drink all the cheap beer we can handle. And what would go well with beer for dinner?? hmmmmm, let me think.... Maybe campstove baked pizzaburgers??
I'll bring extra napkins in case Jeff should decide to join us again

02/13/09 05:46 PM #744

Bret C. Corbin

John,
If I remember correctly those were actually wild boar pizza burgers to boot. I will bring a Sam's Club/Costco sized supply of paper towels for Jeff. He has weird eating habits after drinking PBR and Tequila. John you really did kill the bass in that pond. I fished from a float tube in that pond last year and covered every inch of that thing and there are still no fish in there after your catching spree. Or maybe I just suck at fishing.

Doug,
If we go you must go. Glad to see a little beer talk brings you out to play.
