Dennis Lee Johnson, 63, of Sioux Falls, SD, died at his home of cancer on Oct. 6, 2008.
A graveside service was held Nov. 22 at Trefoldighed Cemetery in Battle Lake with Pastor Lyle Hoxtell officiating.
Dennis was born April 12, 1945 in Luverne to Robert L. and Thelma (Stagel) Johnson. He graduated from Bloomington High School and went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota. He served six years in the Naval Reserve in Memphis, Tenn. He married Margaret Franze on Oct. 17, 1995.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughter Bonnie (Bob) Will; grandson, Steven Will; mother, Thelma Sherer; brother, Gale (Linda) Johnson; four stepchildren, Mark (Sherry) Maudal, Delano (Darlene) Maudal, Brian (Jenny) Maudal, and Donna (Dale) Mitchell; 13 step grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; aunt, Pat Wachter; brother-in-law, Lowell Franze; four nieces and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Carol Johnson, his step father, Carl W. Sherer, and sister-in-law, Sonia Franze.
