Melissa passed away in November of 2006. She is survived by her husband Frankie Powers and her 3 children - Sierra, Aiden, and Bryson Powers. Melissa had many friends at East High School and will be deeply missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Melissa was my best friend through high school. I always thought that she and I would have fun together the rest of our lives. After high school we did go our seperate ways, like so many of us do. I hated that! I talked to a few times before her death, but everything was so unexpected. There are days that I still think about her and wish I could tell her all about how life is changing. It is hard for me to think about a memory of high school without her in it. I know she is in a better place and I pray that God would be with her family.
