I've been in and out of school and the restaurant business for the last twenty years. I am currently less than nine classes from a Bachelors Degree. I plan on going to law school or graduate school after graduating in 2010. It's been a nice career :) My wife and I spent a year in Iraq as civilian contractors from May 2004 to May 2005. It was a fantastic experience. We were jetsetters for a year. We saw army bases in Tikrit, Balad and Kirkuk. We saw a Shakespeare play in Stratford Upon the Avon, touched the rocks in Stonehenge, explored Old Sarum Castle, walked the streets of Canterbury, explored the British Museum until it was "Pint-thirty" (usally about 10:00 am), saw "The Lion King" in London, explored the Louve in Paris ("Pint-thirty" turned into "House-wine thirty"), got engaged atop the Eiffel Tower, and stayed on a houseboat in Amsterdam for two weeks. We also spent a week or two in Dubai, which was also fantastic. After graduating college I look forward to continuing my explorations of the world!

We went through this airport several times. The first time there was nothing in it but armed guards and customs officials. The next few trips through shops and restaraunts began to appear.

Upon arrival in Iraq at Camp Anaconda, and then at Camp Speicher we lived in community tents. Eventually, the KBR folks built little trailer communities. A bathroom in the middle, and a room on either side. The door opens into a courtyard of sorts, side by side with trailers facing one another in a square.

This is a portion of one of the yards we worked in, in Iraq. An oil-fire burns in the distance.

This is the bus we rode to work, lunch and back to our temporary homes everyday in Iraq. That's me slouched in the back. Guy behind the pigtails is a retired Lt Colonel, Air Force.
