School Story:
As time marches on, I realize how lucky we were to come of age in the late 70’s and attend Onteora. Thanks to fine establishments like Strolles in Mt Tremper, and the Klondike in Tannersville, we were able to hone or drinking and driving skills to prepare us for the tougher DWI standards that we need to adhere (re: avoid) now.
Also many of us can take some pride in the role we played in the global economics by supporting many family farmers in Columbia and Mexico. We didn’t need a ‘Fair trade Certified’ sticker on those ziplock bags to know that as consumers we were doing our part to eliminate the middle man. Our Sports teams provided us a valuable life lesson, its not weather you win or lose, its how hard you laugh. I find the best trait that most alumni of our school have carried on long after leaving the busy metropolis of Boiceville, is the ability to get along with others of different interests and cultures, and to unify when necessary, and more importantly leave alone when needed.
