Melville Allan Obituary

Berne, NY - Melville J. Allan III, surrounded by love, Mel, 62, passed onto a peaceful place on December 26, 2023, after a 4-month battle with sepsis.Mel was well known on the Hudson River as one of the best marine mechanics in the area. He was employed at Coeyman's Landing Marine Services. So, it fits that Mel loved boating. He and his wife enjoyed taking boat trips to New York City. However, the winter was the season Mel loved the most. Snowmobiling was his passion, and his favorite trails were in the Adirondacks, specifically at the cabin in Onchiota, NY. Mel's hands were never idle. He loved his home, with the breath-taking view, in Berne NY and was always building something new, whether it be a dock for the pond or a shed for the firewood. Mel was a strong, kind, loving man who is already incredibly missed.Mel is predeceased by his mother, Annarose Allan, TeeJay puppy and Cedar puppy. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Wilson Allan and their puppy, Seneca; his sisters, Mary Ann (Bob) Diamond, Deborah (Bill) Hoy; nieces, Kristen (Michael) and Megan; nephew, Christopher (Emily) and grandnephews, Chase, Carson and Liam. You are welcome to share time with Mel and his family at Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue in Troy, on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon with a short prayer service at 12:00 noon.As Mel loved animals, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mel's name to the Hudson Mohawk Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue Menands, NY 12204 or online at mohawkhumane.org/tributes. We recommend using the brycefuneralhome.com website to share or send condolences, light a candle, view videos or for service directions
